Female Urology: Breaking the silence on women’s bladder and pelvic health
Urology is often perceived in the media as a specialty focused on male health — particularly prostate disease and erectile dysfunction. Yet a large proportion of urological conditions affect women, and many are under-recognised, under-reported and too often accepted as “normal” consequences of ageing, childbirth or menopause. As female urology specialists at West Sussex Urology, we (Angela Birnie and Esme White) are committed to shining a spotlight on women’s bladder and pelvic health and to encouraging open, informed conversations supported by evidence-based care.
